On the occasion of International Girl Child Day, IIS (Deemed to be) University hosted a Self-Defence Workshop organized by NSS and the Centre for Women’s Studies. The event began with a warm welcome to the attendees and a special introduction to the esteemed guest, Rtn Dr. Pallavi Singhvi.
Dr. Pallavi Singhvi, a distinguished figure in academia and community service, shared insights on personal safety during her engaging talk. She emphasized the importance of self-denial that no harm could happen and encouraged participants to create a password system with parents for emergency situations.
Attendees were enlightened about the significance of being aware of their surroundings and practicing victim displacement as part of their self-defence strategy. Dr. Singhvi's words resonated with the audience, inspiring a commitment to personal safety.
The workshop further unfolded with a captivating demonstration of various self-defence techniques against grabbing methods. Attendees actively participated, learning practical skills that could be applied in real-life situations. Dr. Singhvi's expertise and dedication to empowering women.
